Home Star is a bill currently in Congress. The program would give upfront rebates to homeowners who make their homes more energy efficient. This is not a Republican or Democrat idea. This is a common sense strategy to help put contractors in our industry back to work. Modeled after the "Cash for Clunker" program to give direct rebates to car owners to trade in their older cars for new fuel efficient models.
Home Star's goal is to allow homeowners to get immediate rebates for installing high efficiency HVAC systems. We know how the $1500 tax credit helped stimulate sales, this program goes even further.
